Rev Dr. J Arthur Poulson Sr, a native of Philadelphia, PA, was born the seventh of eight to the late Clarence and Mary Harmon-Poulson, who migrated from the eastern shore of Accomack County, VA. His journey into the ministry began at a young age, inspired by his deep-rooted faith and a strong sense of purpose. He accepted God's call, was licensed, and started preaching at the First Resurrection Baptist Church of Philadelphia in 1972. That faith and sense of purpose continue to inspire his work today. He comes from a family of preachers and is currently the Servant Leader of The Historic First Baptist Church of Cheswold, DE.  

His pursuit of knowledge led him to attend and excel in undergraduate work at Temple University, Main Bible Institute, and Cairn University, formerly Phila Biblical University, where he earned undergraduate and master's degrees in Bible. He also holds a Doctorate in Ministry from the Phila Evangelistic Bible College. Moreover, he is a certified instructor for the Evangelistic Teaching Association, Main Bible Institute, and Southern Baptist Seminary Extension. 

Rev Poulson's dedication to his calling is evident in his diverse and extensive professional and ministerial experiences, which he supports with his time, talent, and treasure to further their missions and efforts.

He has served several churches in the PA, NJ, and MD areas, including the El Shaddai BC (Assistant Pastor), New Bethany Baptist Church (Senior Pastor), and the Ark Church of Baltimore, MD (Pastor of Christian Education). His tenure as the Director of Christian Education at the Christ Care Unit Missionary Baptist Church (CCUMBC) in Sicklerville, NJ, his home church of (32) thirty-two years, is a testament to his dedication to serving God and the people. He is also an encouraging Christian writer, a regular devotional writer, and the founder of J Arthur Poulson Ministries. Rev Poulson's love for preaching, teaching, and writing is all for God's glory. 

Secularity, he worked as a manager and National Management and Program analyst for the Federal Department of Treasury, first in Phila, Pennsylvania, and later in the Washington, D.C., metro area, until his retirement in 2017. 

Rev Dr. J Arthur Poulson Sr is a dedicated servant of God, a loving husband, a father of four, and a grandfather of seven whose commitment to family is paramount. Having traveled and moved for work and ministry, he now resides with his wife, the former Charletta I Douglas, in Smyrna, Delaware. For nearly five decades, the Lord has blessed Rev Dr. Poulson to preach and teach the gospel across this country. He loves God and God’s people and seeks to serve all with his mantra, “I'm a saved sinner seeking to serve the Lord.”
